People with metabolic syndrome are at increased risk of diabetes, coronary heart disease and other diseases. Metabolic syndrome is a combination of medical conditions that increase risk of heart disease and diabetes. People with metabolic syndrome have some or all of the follwoing: high blood glucose, high blood pressure, abdominal obesity, low HDL elevated cholesterol and high triglycerides.
