In celebration of the International Year of Astronomy (IYA), Deer Park Town Center has created Stars Over Deer Park Town Center, occurring August 1 - 16, 2009. Events include a scavenger-hunt involving an exhibit called TWAN, children's craft events, daytime solar viewing, mannequin modeling in store windows, a community blood drive, musical talent contest, and other astronomy related in-store events.
