Season Opener: Multi-GRAMMY Nominated Jazz Vocalist Nnenna Freelon
Barrington’s White House proudly opens its Fall 2025 Season with a performance by seven-time GRAMMY® Award nominee Nnenna Freelon. Renowned for her captivating live performances and hailed as one of the most compelling jazz vocalists of her generation, Freelon brings her latest project, Beneath the Skin, to our stage. Departing from the American Songbook standards that have defined much of her career, Beneath the Skin is Freelon’s first album of original compositions. The collection offers deeply personal songs that explore themes of love, loss, and the power of the feminine gaze. This introspective work has resonated with audiences, including a recent six-night sold-out run at Dizzy’s Jazz Club at Lincoln Center in New York City. Freelon’s illustrious career includes collaborations with jazz legends such as Ray Charles, Ellis Marsalis, Al Jarreau, and George Benson. She has graced prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this vocal legend in the exquisite house concert setting of the BWH.
