Scarecrow Festival
The 16th Annual Scarecrow Festival returns Saturday, October 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in downtown Barrington. The free festival will feature pony rides; scarecrow, pumpkin and cookie decorating; and inflatable games for the kids. Bob the DJ will be on hand to delight the crowd with his special costume and favorite spooky songs. Materials for scarecrows will be provided, and festival goers can bring clothing and accessories to personalize their creations.
There will also be a variety of food options which will be available for purchase. Come and join the fun!
Also, scarecrows will begin appearing throughout the Village at the end of September giving the Village a fun, fall feeling! Merchants will create original scarecrows to adorn their store fronts and businesses. Please vote for your favorite scarecrows by going to the Village’s web site at www.barrington-il.gov. Simply click on the Quick Link – Scarecrow Voting. Photos of all of the scarecrows will be posted. Click on the photo of your favorite scarecrow and a vote will automatically be cast. Vote for as many as you like - but it’s only one vote per email per scarecrow! The contest ends on Monday, October 31, Halloween. Winners will be announced on the Village web.
