Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Community Walk
Someone in the US dies by suicide every 12.8 minutes (Source: CDC). After cancer and heart disease, suicide accounts for more years of life lost than any other cause of death.
The Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Community Walk is the largest suicide prevention event in the country. Funds raised at that event benefit the Illinois Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a top rated, four star nonprofit organization according to Charity Navigator, an independent rating agency.
