Citizens for Conservation is now accepting orders for its Annual Fall Native Tree and Shrub Sale. Autumn is an ideal time to plant trees. Cool weather allows them to establish roots in their new locations before spring rains and summer heat stimulate top growth.  Choose from thirty different shrubs and nearly forty species of trees in various sizes. Download the order form from our website:  www.CitizensforConservation.org, or phone us at 847-382-SAVE (7283) to have us mail one to you. Orders should be placed no later than Tuesday, September 6^th, and can be picked up between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17^th. While picking up your plant order, please spend some time enjoying the displays and shopping with the vendors at our Green Fair, held in conjunction with the plant sale. Displays will include the always popular rescued raptors from Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. We will have specialists in native landscaping, including rain gardens, to talk with you, and you can learn about caring for your lawn the natural way with Safer Pest Control Projects.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Green Fair, so please come to visit the displays and buy local "green" wares. Tree sale and Green Fair are at CFC's headquarters, the white farmhouse and silo across Route 22 from Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital; 459 W. Highway 22, Lake Barrington, Il 60010. Proceeds from the sale will be used to further our mission, “Saving living space for living things."
