Family Freedom Festival
An all day celebration to pay tribute to US troops and the American way, the 3rd annual Family Freedom Festival will be held at the downtown Barrington Metra train station. The free event will feature live bands, special guests and speakers such at 9/11 Pentagon survivors. On display will be military vehicles from vintage Jeeps to the latest high tech equipment. The festival also will include a play area with climbing wall, moonwalk and face painting. Schedule: Noon: Memorial service and wreath laying cermony with gun salute provided by the Barrington chapters of the Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion 12:30: The Spirit of the USO Band performs 2 - 6: Family entertainment and children's activities 5:30: Barrington high school's own Jasper performs a variety of funk, fusion and rock 8 - 10: Joe Cantafio and the 101st Rock Division performs everything from rock and country to hip-hop and blues on the eve of their world tour of 50 bases
