The Elgin Symphony Orchestra opens its 76th Season Classics Series with a dynamic program that bridges lush romanticism and bold modern spirit. Conducted by Music Director Chad Goodman, the evening features Carlos Simon’s electrifying "Motherboxx Connection," Howard Hanson’s passionate Symphony No. 2, and George Gershwin’s jazz-inflected Concerto in F, featuring acclaimed pianist Orion Weiss. Performances take place Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2:30 p.m., at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin. Tickets begin at $20, with $10 student pricing.
