Discussion of Proposed Redistricting Amendment
If you are one of the 77% of Illinois voters who believe corruption in Illinois government is widespread, you probably know something about the current redistricting process that allows politicians, behind closed doors, to fix district boundaries and choose their voters instead of letting the people decide who will represent them.
If you agree that it's time to put voters back in charge of the redistricting process, you're invited to join in the discussion about redistricting reform at a meeting outlining the "Yes for Independent Maps" grass roots campaign that aims to put an Illinois Constitutional amendment on the November 2014 ballot. The proposed amendment will take redistricting out of the hands of politicians and give the power back to the people of Illinois.
The speaker is Ryan Blitstein, CEO of Change Illinois, the advisory group behind "Yes for Illinois". His bio can be found here: http://changeil.org/staff/
