Chalk Art

 

Calling all seasoned and emergent chalk artists, as well as participants from local high schools and universities, to the Sidewalk Days 2nd Annual Barrington Chalk Art Festival, on July 29 & July 30, showcasing the works of diverse artists who will use chalk as their medium, and the sidewalks near the Ice House Mall & Village Shops as their canvas. Categories defined are 8 and under; 9—14; 15—18; and family/group. “Best of Show” winners will be judged and announced on July 30 at 3:00 pm. Winners will receive a $25.00 Gift Certificate redeemable at the Ice House Mall. The first 50 registrants will receive a complementary box of pastels, provided by The Learning Express Toys of Barrington and may pick up their FREE chalk by visiting The Learning Express Toys store in the Ice House Mall & Village Shops. Registration on site or at www.barringtonchamber.com. There is no charge to participate or to be a spectator! Instructions on-site are available on July 29 from 10am-4pm and July 30 from 10am-2:30pm.

GUIDELINES

· Contest: “Best in Show” Chalk Art

· Contest open to: 8 and under; 9-14; 15-18; and family/group

· Box of chalk pastels will be reservedto the first 50 registrants to redeem at The Learning Express Toys by visiting the BACC tent outside the Ice House Mall & Village Shops

· Only one square of sidewalk per individual entry

· Judging will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30. Winners will be announced at the main entrance of the Ice House Mall & Village Shops.

· Contestant winners will be contacted by phone and/or email by August 6 if not present at public announcement

· Contest winners will be contacted by phone and/or email by August 3
