BDE Presents "The Art of Dance"
Barrington Dance Ensemble (BDE) is delighted to present “The Art of Dance'' on June 14th and 15th at the Performing Arts Center of Lake Zurich High School. BDE’s 25 ensemble members as well as 50 local dancers will perform in this Spring Production. BDE dancers have had the opportunity to work with former Joffrey Ballet dancer, Jackson Liee as he sets the classical ballet, Paquita. This will be the first time BDE performs this historic ballet. Originally from Brazil, Mr. Liee is also choreographing a new work entitled, “Spanish Fan Dance” which incorporates the use of fans and capes; capturing traditional Spanish flare. Guillermo Leyva’s newly expanded “Gypsy Dance”, a BDE favorite, will be set by Roberta Pfiel Begley. Audiences will be delighted by excerpts from the ever popular “Swan Lake'' set by BDE rehearsal coach, Karen Janet. Mary Brennan’s “L’Art des Enfants'' will round out the performance as a celebration of dance depicting the impressionist art from that time period.
Tickets range from $28-$22 and will go on sale to the public on Monday, April 15th. Visit our website www.barringtondance.org for more details and tickets.
