SUMMARY:Wishes for Wellness Brunch
DESCRIPTION:The Ecker Center for mental health will host their Annual Awards Brunch at Elgin Community College-University Business Center on May 18th from Noon to 3 p.m.  Chefs from the surrounding community will be serving specialty items ranging from roasted vegetable ratatouille\, scotch eggs with Dijon mustard dipping sauce\, individual breakfast quiche cups\, chicken breast Romanoff and assorted small scones\, just to name a few.  The agency will honor its donors and present awards to outstanding community members who have helped Ecker Center fulfill its mission.  Among those being honored this year will be:  Laurie Huske\, President NAMI Kane County North\;  Lazarus House and Dave Falkenberg\, Ecker Center's Entitlements Case Manager.  Reservations information is available at the Ecker Center Website:  www.eckercenter.org or from Sharon Prizy at 847-695-0484 X 1913.  The cost is $50 per person\;  $40 is a tax deductible donation to Ecker Center to provide services. Reservations are requested by May 12th.\n\n\n\nThe Ecker Center for mental Health provides psychiatry and nursing services\, 24/7 crisis response\, psychosocial rehabilitation\, case management\, vocational support\, individual and group therapy as well as crisis\, supervised and partly supervised residences to adults with mental illinesses.  In October 2013\, the Center hired a counseling supervisor and six therapists who specialize in children's and adolescent's issues as well as family therapy.  It receives support from United Ways and Mental health Boards\, which help to make its services affordable for people with limited incomes.  It has offices in Elgin\, St. Charles and Streamwood.
