DESCRIPTION:About the Event:\nEach year\, the Midwest Region of NPH USA hosts their signature event\, The Football Legends Classic. After a challenging 2020 and with things opening back up\, we are eager to bring everyone back together on the golf course in late July to celebrate the NPH mission and connect with old friends.\n\nFor anyone who might be new to the Football Legends Classic\, this unique event is a golf outing where you can meet and play with former NFL legends and Hall of Fame Football Players! The Football Legend Classic raises over $290\,000 to help provide more than 7\,600 NPH children in Latin America and the Caribbean with food\, clothing\, shelter\, healthcare\, education\, and hope for the future.\n\nBackground on the Event:\n\n\nIn 1971\, Michigan State University football teammates John Shinsky and NFL Hall of Fame member Joe DeLamielleure discussed their dreams for the future. It was at that time that John told Joe that one day he was going to build a home for orphaned and abandoned children. That dream became a reality with the building of the Shinsky Orphanage in Matamoros\, Mexico. In 2009\, John partnered with NPH and its American fundraising arm\, NPH USA\, to combine their unique resources and strengths for the shared mission of transforming the lives of children in need.\n\nLearn about NPH USA's Pro Football Partnership:\n\nFor eight years\, Pro Footba\;l Hall of Famers have partnered with NPH USA in the annual Football Legends Classic golf event.
