DESCRIPTION:The Lyric Opera Northwest Chapter will host tenor Jonathan Johnson for an intimate performance at Barrington's White House\, with Craig Terry at the piano. The gathering reception begins at 2:30.\n\nJonathan Johnson\, recently performed at the Lyric's "Rising Stars in Concert\," performing Chevalier/Dialogues des Carm lites. Of his six roles at the Lyric\, the most recent include Innkeeper/Der Rosenkavalier\, St. Brioche/The Merry Widow and Curzio/Le nozze di Figaro. He made his Chicago debut performing Les mamelles de Tir sias with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.\n\nMr. Johnson holds a professional artist certificate from the A.J. Fletcher Institute of the University of North Carolina School of Arts. The tenor received his bachelor of music degree from Mercer University's Townsend School of Music.\n\nLauded for his "sensitive and stylish" (The New York Times) and "superb" (Opera News) playing\, pianist Craig Terry has launched an international career\, regularly performing with some of the world's leading singers and instrumentalists. Currently Mr. Terry is in his eleventh season as Assistant Conductor\, and has recently been named Music Director of the Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago.\n\nMr. Terry's discography includes three recently released recordings. He was also featured in a "Live from Lincoln Center" national broadcast on PBS with Stephanie Blythe in April 2013.\n\nThe Northwest Chapter of the Lyric Opera of Chicago meets the 3rd Sunday afternoon of the month throughout the season of September-June based on availability\, and presents vocal artists\, musical and lecture programs\, and coordinates outings to Ravinia and other recital locations.\n\nThis is the Chapter's first performance at Barrington's White House.
